Mortgages Manager, Business Development (Vancouver, BC)
$85K base + bonus + comprehensive package

Our leading banking/financial services client is currently seeking a Manager, Business Development (Mortgages) to join their successful team! This is a permanent role which will require frequent client meetings out of the office.

The incumbent will generate mortgage business from Bank endorsed sources. The successful candidate will bring previous lending and strong sales experience within residential/commercial mortgage lending industries. The key responsibilities of the Manager, Business Development (Mortgages) will be to:

  • Establish business relationships with mortgage brokerage firms, brokers & agents in their respective area of operation and generate mortgage business volume in line with organizational goals
  • Plan & implement effective mortgage sales strategies
  • Train mortgage brokers and agents regarding mortgage products
  • Manage key mortgage brokerage accounts (all mortgage originations must meet or exceed the targets for asset quality of the Bank)
  • Work towards the organizational goals alongside the underwriters and other service providers
  • Plan and implement marketing and communication strategies in the respective area, in consultation with the VP of Mortgages and Marketing team
  • Become a key brand ambassador in the region
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time by the reporting Manager

Qualifications:

  • College or University Degree coupled with 5+ years of Mortgage Sales, Underwriting and/or Mortgage Business Development experience
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of products and programs associated with mortgages
  • Thorough understanding of statutory requirements related to Banking processes and products
  • Ability to process sales related transactions
  • Uphold and propagate the DNA competencies of the Bank
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced business environment with changing priorities
  • Independent, highly motivated, results-oriented and a self-manager
  • Demonstrated time management and planning skills with an ability to organize the day with activities that contribute to overall goals
  • Work with a wide variety of personalities effectively
  • Problem solver with good judgment
  • Great communicator and team player
  • Professional, honest and efficient
  • Conduct customer’s business privately and keep their financial information confidential
