12 month contract

The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing and hiring exceptional talent for the team for a variety of roles (including high volume back-office roles) in multiple, cross-functional disciplines with tight deadlines. To be successful in the role, the incumbent must be able to grasp the needs of the business and match them with the skills and capabilities required to take the organization to the next level.

The Recruiter will also support other Talent Acquisition/Management activities – including Employment Equity, Outreach Programs, Aptitude Testing, Applicant Tracking and Reporting, Referral Program, Competency Model, Career Development, Retention Practices.


  • Conduct full end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for all job categories, using a structured recruitment approach, including conducting front-end analysis through to closure
  • Manage a high volume of requisitions and ensure that timelines, service and quality standards are met
  • Identify and leverage a variety of channels to source and build a diverse talent pool, including developing sourcing plans for niche roles, including bilingual (English/French) roles
  • Conduct behavioural and/or performance based interviews, including telephone pre-screens, individual and panel interviews
  • Plan, facilitate, coordinate and implement recruitment and selection activities, including applicant screening, testing, interviewing, background checks and references
  • Proactively analyze and assess current recruitment processes and programs, and recommend and implement solutions
  • Ensure both internal and external legal and legislative compliance during the recruitment and selection process while mitigating organizational risk
  • Contribute to special projects to support Talent Acquisition activities


  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field, combined with a minimum of 5 years full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably corporate and within the financial services industry
  • CHRP designation (or working towards it) would be an asset
  • Self-motivated individual with good work ethics are essential, as well as a strong track record of teamwork and collaboration
  • Working knowledge of the relevant employment-related legislations and their impact to recruitment and selection in a business operation
  • Good understanding of the various Human Resources disciplines, their linkages and impact to recruitment and selection, as well as policies and procedures
  • Strong listening, writing and documentation skills in order to capture interview notes, write hiring recommendations, reports and general communication
  • Resourceful, organized and action-oriented individual, with demonstrated ability to recruit passive candidates through various channels
  • Experience in developing sourcing plans for unique roles, including bilingual roles
  • Experience in the use of screening and assessment tools, including behavioural-based and/or performance-based interviewing techniques
  • Well-developed assessment skills, combined with sound judgement and decision making abilities in order to make effective selection decisions
  • Exposure to high volume recruitment blitzes and assigned initiatives with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, ability to deal with complex hiring processes and follow them through to closure
  • Comfort level working in a fast-paced, high performing environment with multiple and tight deadlines is required for the role
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including the use of Applicant Tracking Systems (Taleo would be an asset), Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability in core and role specific competencies including teamwork, adaptability, results orientation, judgement and decision making
  • Bilingual (French/English) verbal and written communication skills are assets
