Our client, an Oil and Gas Field Services company who works with a portfolio of name-brand oil and gas companies, is looking for a Scientific Developer to join their DRMS project as a member of the Geomechanics and Gridding team. The position is a 6 month contract with the potential to lead to permanent work. DRMS is a next-generation set of technologies that will make reservoir simulation and production engineering workflows faster, easier, and less error-prone, allowing oil companies to better understand and develop petroleum resources. In this position, the successful Scientific Developer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and delivery of engineering software components that manifest the mathematical algorithms developed by other subject matter experts on the team. The Scientific Developer will have experience in Engineering Software with a focus on petroleum production engineering or reservoir engineering. For this Scientific Developer position you should be experienced working on the development of engineering software and implementing numerical solutions for complex mathematical expressions. You must be experienced with C#, C++, and .NET software libraries (MFC) for several years. You must have strong communication skills for this role. An undergraduate degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering is also required. Experience working with XML/XSD, and SQL databases Knowledge of UML, design patterns, and modern architectures such as MVVM is an asset. Previous experience working in an Agile work environment and test-driven development would also be looked upon favorably.
