Position Overview:
Reporting to Controller, the Accounts Payable ensures timely and accurate processing of the accounts payable demands, as well as provides support to the Accountant on an as needed basis. Acting as a team member, supports other members of the Finance department to meet and exceed business demands. Works with other departments as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Accounts Payable:

  • Process accounts payables in a timely and accurate manner, including processing invoices and supplier cheque
  • Process customer payments
  • Enter accounts payables information into SYSPRO
  • Process all builder’s hardware payables
  • Match customer invoices to purchase orders to ensure accuracy
  • Run on-line and manual cheques for expenses and invoices as required

Report Generation:

  • Generate reports on excel spreadsheets as required
  • Analyze general ledger accounts as needed

Payroll:

  • Fully knowledgeable of weekly payroll preparation
  • Act as backup to the Accountant on an as needed basis
  • Summarize labour hours on a weekly basis including data entry and transmission to ADP
  • Prepare payroll journal entries

Health & Safety Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable must:

  • Complete required H&S training
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedure
  • Participate fully in ensuring R-W is a safe place to work

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum High School Diploma required. Accounting courses at the College level is desirable
  • Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel), data entry skills, SYSPRO experience is desirable
  • O-3 months experience working in an accounting function
