Assist the Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging and distribution of patient prescriptions.
Evaluate legality, interpret and input all prescriptions, labels and consent forms to ensure patient information is up to date and in the pharmacy’s computer system.
Gather information to create and maintain a patient profile or health record including risk factors for ADR, allergies and contraindications.
Complete documentation i.e. Third party management and reconciliation, filling prescriptions, printing reports, invoices etc.
Take appropriate action(s) to prevent and reduce medication errors and medication discrepancies and implements measures to prevent recurrence
Accept responsibility and be accountable for his or her decisions and actions not limited to distributive and quality assurance functions to ensure safety, accuracy and quality of supplied products
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and dispensary.
In addition, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, perform the following functions:
Receive a new or repeat prescription from healthcare providers
Transfer prescriptions to, and receive prescriptions from, other pharmacies
Copy prescriptions for authorized recipients
products prepared for release
Refer all inquiries and/or issues that require a therapeutic decision to the pharmacist
Medication Room audit at the nursing home facilities
Ensure that all medication reviews are updated and refills verified.
Ensure the accuracy of all the electronic MAR uploads to the nursing facilities
Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner
Address customer issues to ensure that all issues remain confidential and are resolved in a timely manner or when appropriate direct issues to the pharmacist.
Present the proper image to the public in accordance with pharmacy standards: clean appearance, approved uniform, and name badge.
Ensure all patient inquiries regarding prescriptions and non-prescriptions medications, uses, treatments, and recommendations are referred to the pharmacist on duty.
Ensure customers are referred to the pharmacist for direct involvement in the sales of restricted access OTC products.
Maintain efficient flow of merchandise from receiving to the dispensary and update in the Nexxsys system.
Advise appropriate personnel of out-of-stocks or shortages.
Perform cycle counts; stock dispensary shelves and order supplies for the pharmacy.
Monitor inventory levels and identify approaching and critical expiration dates.
Face and fill OTC sections as required.
Assist in updating retails, costs and other product file information using Nexxsys.
Implement applicable marketing programs as set forth by the Pharmacists.
Prepare for inventory counts.

Previous Nexxsys, MDM, PacMed experience is considered an asset.

Inventory control experience preferred.
Ability to speak and write Korean considered an asset.
