Underground Miner Dufferin Mine
Since it was first established in 1994, Ressources Appalaches has targeted the discovery and development of deposits of base and precious metals located in the Appalachians and on the Quebec North Shore. In order to diversify the risks associated with its strategy, the Company holds some dozen mineral properties in various stages of development.
Ressources Appalaches has recently become the sole proprietor of the Dufferin Mine, located in Nova Scotia and intends on bringing the mine to production shortly. The refurbishment of the mine and subsequent initial operational capability compels Les Ressources Appalaches to seek qualified candidates to join us in this terrific opportunity.
We have assembled an effective mining team with a depth of experience. This team is empowered to provide leadership and ensure that the corporate philosophy is carried out within all levels of the company. Job Title: Underground Miner Location: Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia
Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will work in an energetic atmosphere where environment, safety and production results are essential for success. The key functions and responsibilities of the position includes:
1.Capable of performing ground support, dewatering/pumping, mucking, bolting, drilling and blasting;
2.Understanding the mining methods used in the location. Comply with company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
3.Operate equipment within the proper parameters;
4.Work closely with others crew members to create and maintain a synergy required to accomplish the shift line up in the cycle;
5.Ensure applicable procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood adhered to and complied at all times for all such work; and,
6.Utilise the five point safety system as specified with the corporate safety management system.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications and experiences:
1.A minimum of three years of experience in underground operations especially in developing mining and narrow vein mining, jack leg and raise mining an asset;
2.Blasting Certificate, Miner Rescue Training and first aid would be an asset;
3.Successful candidates are expected to adhere to all company safety policies & procedures at all times, and,
4.Good physical condition. .
