EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT (Former Employee), Waterloo, ON – February 23, 2013
Pros: flexible hour, work from home as well as ability to take initiative
Cons: 24/7 availability, regular change of building, work space.
Research In Motion would be a the top of my list for an overall top notch place to work.

As an Executive Assistant, my regular duties consisted of management of schedules, travel, devices and projects to VP, direct reports and their teams.

By far the leadership / management was exemplatory, mentoring and the ability to take initiate and be a true – more... entrepenure was very much accepted and encouraged.

Being a team player and exceed customers service internally and externally was a high priority.

Ever changing priorities.

Atmosphere and co-workers was explemantory, very team oriented to work together in getting the job done. – less

Project Coordinator (Former Employee), Waterloo, ON – February 10, 2013
Cons: limited job security/room for advancement
A typical day of work involved creating surveys, analyzing user feedback, generating reports and shipping and distributing BlackBerry 10 devices and accessories. I learned a great deal about identifying and reporting software bugs, quality control within the technology industry and project management. Both management and co-workers were wonderful. I – more... regularly synced with my Team Lead to ensure my experience at RIM (now BlackBerry) was both challenging and rewarding. As many projects were completed concurrently and had competing deadlines, exceptional time management skills were a must. The most enjoyable part of working with RIM was the atmosphere as everyone on my team was extremely passionate about the new devices. Testing pre-release devices was pretty exciting as well. – less

Reliability Lab Operator (Former Employee), Waterloo, ON – February 2, 2013
Pros: free smartphones
Cons: long hours
Working in a healthy environment with a group of coworkers. Every day was a new challenge for me, working on a different project. Always demanding, and i enjoined fast past and demanding schedule. The hardest part was, many times was required to work overtimes on weekend. Management was reasonable and open minded. I have learned, if you work hard it – more... will always be opportunity to grow. – less

Very Nice Atmosphere, friendly co-workers, Interesting work, and fun work environment
PCB/FPC Assistant (Former Employee), Waterloo, ON – January 31, 2013
Pros: lunch and learn, development training
Cons: no job security, unrealistic expectations and deadlines
RIM is overall a nice place to work if you have a secure job, otherwise you'll be worried about losing your job each week. The co-workers are friendly and it is a pretty flexible work environment, however there is a lot of bureaucracy which prevents you from doing much work. Also there is a lot of internal secrecy employees are kept in the dark about – more... a lot of things and don't have any idea whats happening in other areas of the company. – less
