The Junior Buyer function includes the sourcing of materials, expediting of deliveries, completion of daily reports, and regular Data entry and maintenance of the Item Master. Monitoring and adjusting the flow of material from our warehouses to our stores, and ensuring timely delivery and accurate record keeping.

Post- secondary 2 to 3 Year Business Degree / Diploma / Certification in Materials Management.
PMAC/APICS/PLOG – Minimum Basic Certification under old or new programs or proof of enrollment in a current program.
Demonstration of courses and seminars to develop / sharpen skills in Supply Chain Management.
2 to 5 years direct purchasing experience in CPG and or Distribution in a Retail environment is Mandatory.
Working Knowledge /Experience on an MRP/ERP or Excel based replenishment system.
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Experience with Business Vision an asset.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral are required in interacting with suppliers and internal customers.
Professional attitude towards work and personnel in all departments.
Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a busy work environment.
Working knowledge of customs and transportation regulations.

Analyze the PO and Transfer reports
Create and release Purchase orders
Monitor and manage inventory based on turn over reports
Review and assist stores in adjusting inventory levels
Update confirmation dates from suppliers
Calling suppliers to ascertain delivery status of open orders.
Updating the system with the new delivery date.
This position requires flexibility in daily work hours due to changing customer orders and retail requirements. Moderate lifting may be required periodically. Travel to Supplier sites may be required. Strict adherence to safety rules in the warehouse is required due to warehouse activity.
