Controller Primary Role
The Controller will perform all functions and responsibilities while upholding the company’s values and beliefs. The Controller is responsible for recording and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and preparation of financial reports. The Controller reports directly to ownership and oversees the Accounts Payable, Receivable and Accounting Administration. The Controller will reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, review and monitor budgeting, monitor sales, and contribute to strategic planning for the organization. Attention to detail and accuracy are paramount to this position. Upholding company and project policies to ensure all financial activity is managed accordingly.

Skill, Experience and Knowledge Base Requirements
Experience: What kind of experience should the occupant of the role have to perform well?
Minimum 5 years experience in similar role. Experience in key areas of financial management and control (reporting, budgeting, cash management, costing and profitability analysis)
Exceptional organizational skills and results driven
Excellent experience with computerized accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel software.
Construction Industry understanding is an asset.
Knowledge base: Market, business, operational.
Understanding of commodity tax system (GST).
Understanding of the Worker’s Compensation Board Act
Customer Influence (education, training, service)
Exceptional conflict resolution and customer service skills
Ability to effectively negotiate with clients, contractors and vendors
Communication (verbal, written, interpersonal)

Salary will be determined based on experience and includes benefits and incentive options.
Preference given to B.Comm or professional accreditation.
