Linus – December 14, 2012

Hello, I am currently working as an account receivable personnel in a financial institution. I am equally interested in working at RBC as a collector. However, I have no idea about the salary..as they keep mentioning competitive salary without specification. Can you please tell me the salary of a collector @ RBC Montreal? I know the salary will be similar to Customer service agents. thanks

good
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Fergus, ON – September 20, 2012
Pros: rewards points for doing a good job, and extra bonuses for such
Cons: i miss my co-workers and the clients.
I usually had very good days at work, waiting on clients and fun with co-workers. For the most part management had always been fair and treated you with respect. I would always learn something new at work, business or personal. The hardest part of the job was the goals and selling to clients. Even though I was good at it, the clients, I feel did not – more... like it. I really liked the customers and had built a relationship with them. – less

Cafeteria was extremely large, The work place at RBC was very clean, Clients personal informations were locked away at the end of the day.
Client Service Administrator (Former Employee), York Mills, Ontario – August 12, 2012
A typical day at work involved processing searches and registrations on clients a ccount. Also preparing and posting Money Orders.

I learnt it is extremely important to pay attention to details, accuracy is also extremely important you are processing clients information that means accuracy is important.

Great management within the department, management – more... kept frequent meetings to update her staff.

Co-workers were very friendly and helpful.

I don't recall the work being hard, I enjoyed my role and I did a good job to ensure all aspects of my position were met in a timely manner.

Most enjoyable part of the job were the co-workers, and the work itself was very interested – less

Friendly & Co-operative Management & Team with great training
Policy Accounting Assistant (Contract-Agency) (Former Employee), Mississauga, Ontario – July 20, 2012
Pros: paid training
Cons: contract ended
It was really great to work with great manager with wonderful team who used to trust me to deposit their Account Receivable funds into the bank. I enjoyed to take the responsibility to send the notices to the clients after verifying and analyzing their non-sufficient funds and credit visa card reports. I also enjoyed each and every job alloted to me – more... like Client Status Change into the system, Distributing incoming & outgoing mails of policy accounting department, answering phone calls, emails fax etc. – less

Helping to fine tune the morgage calculator
Snr. Financial analyst - Finance (Contract) (Former Employee), Toronto, ON – May 10, 2012
Pros: friendly boss
Cons: contrat too short
Was assigned to review a mortgage calculator that a consultant had prepared for the bank for consistency and accuracy. I conducted the review by applying some accounting techniques. My supervisor did not tell me what exactly he wanted me to do, that was the hardest part. No co-worker was familiar with the calculator since it was new.

As I started detecting – more... some inconsistencies and inaccuracies, the assignment became interesting. I was in touch with the consultants to draw their attention to those errors which they appreciated so much.

I learned that with a little effort, I can apply my self to any challenge to achieve a purpose to promote the image of my organization. – less

Life at RBC
Associate, Global Markets (Current Employee), New York, NY – March 23, 2013
A typical day on the trading floor typically involves being prepared to make a wide range of decisions in a time sensitive environment. One of the most important skills you can learn to help you excel is the ability to get along with your co-workers, since the inherent lay-out of the work environment facilitates a lot more interaction than that of a – more... cubicle job. The stronger your relationships with your fellow salesman, traders, and researchers, the more you will be able to draw upon them and use their information and assistance to compliment your efforts. I thought RBC was an exceptionally well run bank, it compensates well, is conservative and enjoys a great reputation, and is known for a strong work-life balance. The hardest part of the job is trying to continually motivate yourself for the grind of the lifestyle if markets are not truly your passion. – less

Canadian Bank liked working
Branch Manager (Former Employee), Indialantic, FL – March 21, 2013
Pros: lots of training, good product offerings
Cons: to many complaints made to hr by employees, very strick code of conduct enforcement, too much emphasis on
I enjoyed working here good team, regional manager and had a great team of managers/peers who where very supportive. Being a manager at RBC and PNC was very difficult because of the staffing models and because of all the expectations. No assistant manager and teller supervisors at PNC did not contribute much support in coaching and performance management – more... mainly because they did not have the experience, know how or drive to do so. – less

Highly Motivated, Young, and Smart Office
Research Assistant - Washington Wealth Group (Former Employee), Washington, DC – March 12, 2013
I worked under a younger advisor who is brilliant at his job and in all fields of finance. If you have a question he will not only answer it but ensure that you understand every detail of the concept in question. If he cannot do so he will put you in contact with a specialist who can. He allowed me to sit in on some meetings and really learn the ins – more... and outs of the industry. He is great at keeping in touch with former interns and helping them with their career path in any way he can. – less
