Marketing/Advertising Coordinator (Former Employee) – Ramallah – 23 March 2016
A typical work day involves either visiting a number of stores that sells our product and supervise the work of sales coordinators and take pictures of shelves and merchandise display. At end of day review all data collected and submit necessary evaluations and recommendations to sale representatives.
I learned how to apply my skills in supervising people and learned about the way FMCG industry works and the role of marketing in making it's success.
The management was doing a good job at organizing people. The coworkers where mainly friendly and pleasant
The hardest part was getting used to the new job for someone who is mainly specialized in business administration and learning all required information
The most enjoyable part of the job was the feeling you make a difference.
They say speed over perfection. its actually chaos all the time. Top management does not care as long as the short term results are met

- very caustic work environment. - no work life balance. - no concept of coaching or training - management has a very short term vision and they are only interested in their year end bonus. they will do anything to get them.
- unless you are a brit or aussie you will never get into the management team.

RB prides itself on being lean but your are expected to do the job of 2 people. I found the culture to be exploitative. They underpay their employees and their suppliers. The senior management team are arrogant. Opportunities at RB are not for everyone. If they really like you, they'll develop you and if they don't, you'll go no where, not even to a management team meeting to present. For them everyone is instantly replaceable. You just happen to have the job for the day. That's the mindset. Save your soul and do not work there. That's my honest advise.

All about the numbers, good management, lots of hours. I always had great managers. Very close with co-workers. Learned lots about retail execution. Hardest part was the long hours. Most enjoyable was working with my customer.
