Pros: travel
Cons: days away from family at a time
every day was diffrent we would be travelling all over the highlands up to shetland over to stornaway our jobs mostly came through insurance companeys the only downside things in this job was the management because they lived in glasgow it was very hard to get them to comunicate properly and the hours are not very reliable some times i could go up to – more... 10 days without doing any work and not getting paid – less

Very busy & enjoyable with great team to work with.
Office manager. (Former Employee), Featherstone – April 11, 2013
Pros: enjoyable busy office
Cons: time drags when work slows up.
A typical day could be very busy with insurance work to allocate to teams to carry out works required, getting as much info from the policyholders to enable the team to have the right equipment to carry out repairs/restoration required, this could be major water leak/flooding of the property to small spillage or burn to carpets, or a major fire/smoke – more... damage to properties. The team would then provide paperwork to advised what works carried out, what equipment was used, what damaged items listed & removed from site, this would then have to be put onto computer system to then form a report which would be sent to each insurance company with costs of works carried out, also quotes for further works required which would require further authorisation.
All jobs would have to be priced up as per each ins.co.own set prices as agreed.
Once all works completed the jobs would then have to be invoiced and final reports & invoices would be sent to the ins.co. & Loss adjusters if once was appointed. – less

Water damage repair.
sub-contractor (Former Employee), Huntsville, AL – April 8, 2013
Pros: the pay
A typical day at work was pretty tough. I learned that not every company will pay a worker what he/she deserves. The management was okay. Friendly, but cheap. The hardest part of the job was the pay.

rewarding job but call schedule was unacceptable
Operations Manager (Former Employee), Wilmington, NC – February 7, 2013
Pros: rewarding
Cons: only the on call schedule
I managed teams of fire and water crews and filed all required insurance papers needed for payment to the company and the homeowner or business owner. Routine days were challange yet rewarding but the call schedule was a challange with being called out at night, weekends and holidays which were hard due to family requirements.

Lots of job satisfaction to be had,it makes the difficult ones bearable.
Senior Technician (Current Employee), Rotherham – December 6, 2012
Pros: get to clean own carpets professionally for free.
Cons: long unsociable hours at times very stressfull.
The role involved organising the teams to do the daily work loads, it may be just monitoring drying process , stripping out damaged property, cleaning of damage property or initial scope of the works.

I learned during my time how to cope with differing and at time upsetting and distressfull situations when face to face with the person involved. I endevoured – more... to give clients the best service I could even if they did not think so at the time. Various methods and ways of cleaning processes to clear up following floods and fires, becoming adept at knowing what will and what will not respond to being cleaned.

The management had good plans that never actually came to fruition, plans for pay rises, bonuses etc never materialised. I have not had a pay increase in five years, always times are hard there is no money, but always money for their own houses and cars.

Had a great team we worked well together.

The hardest part of the job is dealing with the client who feels they want more than they are entitled too.

The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting a wide range of people that on the whole are nice, doing the job and at the end they just say thank you for all you have done. – less

Good working conditions and variety of work
Service Enginner (Former Employee), Grimsby – November 29, 2012
Pros: variety of work and hours worked.
Cons: office staff
I worked for Rainbow for almost two years as a service engineer but was also trained up as a technician. My main duties where to service and repair all the equipment within the main building and to PAT test all equipment within the building as well. I was also sent away and trained as a technician for the restoration side and spent many a pleasant day – more... driving around Lincolnshire attending job's and customers who required equipment to be PAT tested. On the whole I must say that this is one of the best job's I have had todate apart from having to deal with the office staff who were present at the time I was employed there. – less

Challenging but very rewarding
Senior Technician (Former Employee), Darlington – June 22, 2012
Pros: good training
Cons: long hours sometimes..... however good rates of overtime pay.
Providing 24/7 cover to many Insurance companies, within the Fire & Flood restoration sector, Inclusive of domestic and commercial specialist cleaning services.
Within my 6 years of employment i have learn`t a vast amount of specialist techniques and methods with excellent training both in house and head office training in order to provide a standard – more... of service second to none.
The management team expect a great deal, but they also provide a great deal of support and i am proud to have been a part of this also within the business.
The team are very hard working and are always willing to help a fellow co worker in times of need.
The hardest part of the job is keeping up to date with the ever changing policy and procedures. However with weekly updates and continuous weekly meetings and training these issues are dealt with on a one to one basis if required.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the daily challenges it brings each day. Every day is different and not many people can honestly say the enjoy going to work, unlike my time at Rainbow International. – less
