Intermediate Real Estate Legal Assistant

Our client, boutique law firm that specializes in providing practical and cost-effective legal services on bank securities, real estate, corporate, commercial, and immigration law is seeking a Real Estate (Commercial and residential) Legal Assistant to join work with partner.

Position Responsibilities & Qualifications:
The Role
Prepare and issue all documents necessary, from start to completion on all residential and commercial real estate transactions
Type legal documents from precedents/handwritten notes and dictation
Prepare draft correspondence and documents
Drafting of agreements, contracts and financing documents
Review of leases and leasing agreements
Summarizing due dilligence
Responsible for independent file management
Supporting large transactions up to the closing, including preparing and managing all documents and media required for closings, flagging documents for signature, preparing letters, managing sub-files and organizing closing books.
Proofreading documents and checking for appropriate formatting, spelling, grammar and clarity.
Preparing, editing, formatting, printing, scanning and revising correspondence, memoranda, reports, forms, labels as well as lengthy and complex documents through dictation, copy typing or other instructions, in accordance with the requirements set by the practice group
Manage trust accounting and reporting
Prioritize workflow to ensure completion of accurate work within established deadlines
Maintain files; including daily filing, file organization, opening files, closing files, etc.
Handle telephone and mail correspondence, both incoming and outgoing
Administration duties, including time entry and bill preparation
Skills and Experience Required
Completion of a recognized legal assistant program is required
Minimum of 5+ years Legal Assistant experience, experience in Commercial Real Estate an asset
Above average technical aptitude with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Detailed oriented and able to handle multiple tasks
Strong organization skills
Highly motivated and personable
Able to prioritize work
Capacity to work effectively within deadlines and short-time frames
Willing to take initiative
Responds to everyday tasks with little supervision
Maintains professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
Able to work both independently and in a team environment

Previous Law Firm experience along with a legal diploma is required for this position.
