The Job

The Director of Human Resources leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals.

The Director of Human Resources coordinates the implementation of people-related services, policies and programs through Human Resources staff.

The Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in a Human Resources Management role.
  • CHRP Designation and/or Human Resources Management Degree/Certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement and employee development.
  • Strong knowledge of HR and payroll policies/procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Health care industry is considered an asset.

The Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Human Resources department and programs, which include compensation and benefits, recruitment and training.
  • Lead and direct the Human Resources department and identify opportunities for improvement and development.
  • Develop and implement HR policies/guidelines.
  • Design, direct and manage a company-wide process of organizational development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, employee retention and change management.
  • Implement appropriate employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
