I have met some amazing people at this company and have always enjoyed the culture and work environment. Its that work hard, play hard mentality. Not a lot of micro managing going on as long as you get your job done.

Sales Associate (Former Employee), Ontario, CASeptember 9, 2014
Pros: discount on clothing
Cons: poor management, low pay, no advancement oportunity, no benefits
A typical day at work I would work with customers, finding them the proper attire for the beach. I would try to augment company revenue by promoting sales and company unique items.

I learned many sales techniques, company culture, product specs and product layout designs.

I had three managers over a one year period. The first two managers I had were – more... not fit for a management position. The last manager I had was excellent. – less

Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee), Chatham, ENGJune 28, 2014
Cons: long hours
Serving customers all day & being able to join in with their happiness when they won money was always good, but when the customer was losing you was the reason they wasn't winning.

Senior Sales Assistant (Former Employee), LilleJune 24, 2014
In the shop there is no typical day, working in a skate shop the customers vary, and working with products from textile, shoes, accessories and technical items the work pace varied a lot.
The most enjoyable part was creating a customer basis that came back all the time. The physical aspect of staying on the feet for long days could be hard.

Beautiful Soho location with a chill atmosphere
Retail Associate (Current Employee), New York, NYMay 18, 2014
Pros: great location, hour lunch break, good discounts
Cons: irregular hours
Quiksilver Soho is a beautiful store and the managerial staff is generally fun and understanding. If you follow protocol and show up on time then usually you will not have any issues. It is not a very demanding job but you need to know how to deal with difficult customers and foreign languages are always helpful.

Retail Associate (Current Employee), Times Square, NYApril 22, 2014
Pros: co-workers
Cons: no sick days, when you call out the manager makes you call someone to cover your shift, no advancement opportunity, they do not respect availability
You get a mass flood of people from about the moment you open to the moment you close. You learn how to do things quickly and your fellow sales associates are not shy to help you. Management has changed multiple times and they all sort of fall into their positions. Co-workers are one of the most amazing parts of the job, they're polite and helpful. – more... The second most amazing part about the job is meeting people from all over the world. – less

Customer Service (Former Employee), KirkcaldyMarch 13, 2014
Pros: doing things i enjoy like working in a team.
Cons: working till midnight.
A normal day at work included, a team of two, one supervisor and one customer service assistant working together as a team making sure customers were satisfied, ensuring the building was clean and tidy, and locking up and setting all the alarms at closing time.

In this job I enhanced my teamwork skills and the ability to help others.
