Quality Underwriting Services Ltd. (QUS) is a licensed Consumer Reporting Agency. Under the Consumer Reporting Act, an insurance company can request that an inspection company obtain information relating to the applicant's employment (current & previous), estimated income & net worth, bankruptcy, lifestyle information, basic health history and – more... other insurance coverage information. As such, our inspectors are required, and are subsequently trained, to be knowledgeable in a wide range of areas related to risk assessment.
QUS is able to complete inspection requirements concurrently with the applicant's medical requirements. This feature minimizes the number of disruptions and potential inconvenience for insurance applicants. In addition, this "package underwriting" service improves turn-around time and enhances the applicant's perception of the company's professionalism.
It is important that the broker informs the applicant that they may be contacted in conjunction with their application for the completion of an Inspection Report. Advising and preparing the applicant in advance, in addition to creating the perception of professionalism and thoroughness, can greatly decrease the time frame required to complete the report. Unprepared applicants may be reluctant or refuse to answer an inspector's questions over the telephone, thereby, delaying the underwriting process.
All information collected is strictly confidential. Information obtained as a result of the Inspection Interview is sent directly to the insurance company. The reports are reviewed by the underwriter only and are not available for the broker or other staff members to read.
