Our client is looking for a Program Lead for their Vancouver location. (3 years duration with possible extension)

Requirements include the ability to:

  • Create positive energy, championing it as a leading edge organizational initiative, a key source of peer support and valuable information, the preferred deliverer of accredited continuing professional development and a provider of enjoyable, engaging and thought provoking events;
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, SMEs and members from across the organization to ensure organizational support for the client, availability of knowledgeable speakers and consistent attendance at events;
  • Maintain relationships with external bodies such as PMI, APEGBC, AACE International and ASTTBC to ensure programming meets eligibility criteria for continuing professional development requirements;
  • Plan strategically to ensure project programming is relevant, meets member needs and supports core role and technical training;
  • Organizational awareness to keep abreast of changes to PPM and anticipate learning & knowledge management needs of members;
  • Multi-task to organize multiple events on an on-going basis;
  • Knowledge of program promotion, event management;
  • Establish positive relationships quickly to interact with multiple presenters per month.

Typical Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Project Management practices for large infrastructure projects;
  • Strong experience and knowledge related to the preparation of information materials (Degree or equivalent) with understanding of training principles and ability to synthesize and summarize key learning points across knowledge domains. Ability to write technical articles that are interesting to read;
  • Working knowledge of electronic media including SharePoint capabilities, web tools, and intranet architecture and navigation;
  • Effective written skills related to the preparation of information materials and strong interpersonal

  • Knowledge Management: Understand the Knowledge Management arc with respect to client and particularly the Specific Interest Groups (SIGs) to move through the stages of development in effective Knowledge Management;
  • Learning & Development: Use feedback from members and various assessment tools to identify learning and development needs related to role competencies and planned core PPM learning plans;
  • Knowledge Transfer Design: Design effective knowledge transfer/learning sessions of a variety of types, using multiple learning modes;
  • Presentation/Facilitation: effectively facilitate of events, support presenters as necessary and synthesize learning across knowledge domains;
  • Understanding of logistics and planning;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, including graphic design periods to be exercised at the sole discretion of client
  • The client anticipates the need for this consultant to work approximately 35 to 40 hours per week, 5 days per week.
