For 20 years, Product Care Association (PCA) has led the development and implementation of product recycling programs across the country. We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking individual to enhance our Communications Department and take our community initiatives to the next level. Working as a member of the PCA Communications Team, the Community Development Coordinator ensures that the organization meets or exceeds the obligations of its stewardship program plans in delivering compelling, well-attended and awareness-building community and promotional events. In addition, this exciting role will see the Community Development Coordinator exercising their creativity to develop and execute new event initiatives to support PCA marketing and brand building objectives and make informed recommendations on new partnership opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of PCA event deliverables across all stewardship programs
  • Develop and maintain a critical path, including a detailed budget, for the execution of all events
  • Oversee the planning, logistics and execution of PCA events, including in-person event attendance, as required
  • Attend appropriate meetings and take minutes, as required
  • Execute PCA events in a professional manner, on-time and on-budget
  • Create and distribute post analysis reports for all events
  • Work in collaboration with the Communications Team to ensure that all events receive appropriate support across other marketing channels (social media, mass media, PR, etc.)
  • Support PCA coordinators in all PCA programs in the execution of regional community events, including in-person attendance, as required
  • Integration with the entire Product Care team will be key to the success of this role
  • Maintain an inventory of event-specific promotional materials
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of preferred event suppliers and support staff
  • Make recommendations on new event opportunities and potential sponsorships, partnerships and collaborations
  • Exercise creativity in proposals, project approach and problem-solving
  • Provide additional communications support as needed
  • Fulfill other administrative or technical projects and tasks as required

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA

  • Keep current with trends in event strategy in support of PCA and personal & professional

development by participating in conferences, workshops and other training opportunities

  • Bring energy, creativity and organizational expertise that will make a substantial positive impact on PCA events while enhancing its image and positive community relationships
  • Become an expert on Product Care’s brand, championing our voice, values and mission in every undertaking
  • Exhibit entrepreneurial skills, the ability to multi-task, and a proven ability to meet established goals
  • Show discipline in keeping events cost-effective and on budget
  • Meet various measurable event targets as applicable

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of experience working in event planning or event promotion
  • Adept on social media platforms
  • Experience developing and maintaining event budgets
  • Proficiency in standard office software
  • Desire to affect positive social and environmental change
  • Proficiency in French considered an asset
