POSITION: Truck Driver, Tractor-Trailer (United States and Canada)
LOCATION: Sudbury and Area, Ontario
REPORTS TO: Driver Manager
SALARY LEVEL: $40,000 to $55,000 with Competitive Benefits Package

We are an international Full Truck Load (FTL) and Less Than Truck Load (LTL) common carrier with headquarters in North Bay, Ontario. Our years of experience allow us to provide unequalled service levels to our North American client base.

Drives assigned routes within the United States and Canada to designated loading area to have tractor-trailer loaded or unloaded of materials being hauled. Driver will perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicle and trailer. Driver will complete and submits the vehicle condition report at the end of the shift. Driver will be responsible for securing receipts for loads dropped off or loads received.

 Valid Drivers License (‘Class 1’ or ‘A’, Air Brake ‘Z’ endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operators Registration ‘CVOR’ Certificate)
 Experience Driving tractor-trailer is considered an asset
 Knowledge of the truck and truck components
 Ability to provide a current drivers abstract
 Ability to complete a criminal record check
 Basic maintenance knowledge for safe operating practices
 Ability to work a variable work schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned
 Some High School
 Map reading and trip planning experience
 Time management skills
 Ability to complete required paperwork/ documentation associated with each pick-up and delivery
 Ability to work as a part of a team and communicate effectively with other drivers, clients, terminal managers, terminal personnel and dispatchers
 Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts
 Knowledge of Rules and Regulations
 Must complete required Drug Testing
 Ability to adapt

 Ability to follow instructions and policies and procedures and operate equipment
 Perform visible inspections of the vehicle and trailer to inspect for safe operations – visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel, hydraulic and air leaks
 Conduct inspections of all safety equipment, gauges, fluid levels, lighting system, and check to ensure that all electrical systems are operational
 Drive a tractor-trailer equipped with multi-speed transmission (Automatic or Manual)
 Connect and disconnect trailer and hoses
 Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
 Assist customers with inquiries and information requests and, on occasion, assist with working to resolve customer complaints
 Maintain an up-to-date drivers log throughout the duration of each shift
 Must be able to perform physical work at times (lifting in excess of 50lbs)
 Complete driver logbooks, bill of lading, inspection reports (pre, post, en-route) and accident/ incident reports
 Use of satellite tracking equipment
 Adhere to all ProNorth Transportation service standards and policies, including Health & Safety
 Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
