Productive job
Roofer (Former Employee), Winfield, KSJuly 30, 2014
The job was fun and productive, I learned a lot during my work there. In the time I worked for the person I learned the proper way to lay tar paper and shingles. Also I learned how to use a nail gun. The hardest part of the job would probably be laying shingles and keeping them straight. The co workers were hard working and more than willing to help – more... me learn the job. I enjoyed the fact that I was able to help someone build a home that they were going to be living in. – less

working with antiques all day and great at meeting people
sales associate (Former Employee), gettysburg paApril 29, 2014
Pros: good pay, gifts on christmas and worker appreciation
Cons: down time in the winter
Start out greeting customers, opening cases to show antiques to customers and informing them on more information about the antiques. The management was great then it switched in the middle of my employment with new rules that made management not as satisfactory as it use to be. Co-workers work was not based on equal tasks most of them stayed at the – more... counter while one or two people would clean or help with customers. I learned from this position information about antiques and what their uses use to be. The only semi hard part of the job was to watch out for shoplifters. I loved learning the different uses of antiques and talk to the dealers of the antiques when they came into the shop. – less

I really enjoyed my time here.
Gardening Assistant (Former Employee), Liverpool, ENGNovember 1, 2013
Pros: free lunches, gaining skills on the job with a patient teacher, flexible hours
Cons: only a temporary summer job, not consistent
as this was a private owner employing me, the hours and days i worked were very flexible and easy for me to work around, however they were frequent. a typical day involved weeding, fertilizing and mowing a very large garden which required a lot of responsibility and attention to do. i learned all these skills on the job and made sure the owner was happy – more... with my work. i had no co workers, however there was a lot of one on one work with my employer (and teacher). the hardest part of the job was remembering all the skills i had learned and where everything was in the garden, however i have a good memory so this wasn't too much of an issue. the part i enjoyed most was being outside and seeing my hard work paid off at the end. – less

Lanscaping (Former Employee), Arcata, CAMarch 27, 2013
Pros: good pay and picked my own hours
Cons: hard work little breaks
Arrive and speak to the property owner about yard projects and determine which projects could be completed that day. I was in need of little to no supervision due to my work ethic. At times no surpervision throughout the entire day and inspected once the project was completed. The hardest part of the job was the strenuous labor working with a variety – more... of yard tools and constantly working. The most enjoyable part of the job was that i was trusted to complete the projects assigned to me with little supervision and able to leave early if projects where completed. – less
