I found the position not as advertised, it was more suitable for an older person.

I work at present 4 days a week as a hair stylist, however I would like to change my career and would like to work with children, therfor I am looking to work in a school as a teaching assistant

I have gained so much skills especially effective communication with clients.I felt very confident that time to work with both colleagues and clients in a professional manner.

over all it was good.enjoyed my work taking care of an aged old man.learned to cook well.

Cleaning, dusting , hoovering, emptying bins,general tidying,ironing,cleaning and mopping en-suites etc.
I work alone,i have learned how to be more efficient.
the hardest part of the job is lifting the hoover upstairs,but the most enjoyable part of the job is chatting to the owner when she is there.

I love working with food and i think that would be a fun place to work.

My partner and I would start the day off by liasing with our employer and to arrange and delegate various important tasks that are to be dealt with urgently.

We would then walk around the property pin pointing damage, cleanliness, ordering stock, laundry, food prep & standard cleanliness of the kitchens, liase with tradesmen and deliveries, security – more... and checking sign in book, check wine cellar and stock, meet and greet guests for meetings.

If an event was occuring we would prepare the house and organise areas such as ordering catering equipment & waiting staff, table plans & set up/lay out, polishing of cutlery/glasses, flower arrangements, candelabras, seating arrangements, canapes/champagne & menu plans, liase with the chef regards to meal timings. Meet and greet guests/guest list, cloakroom duties.

The hardest part of our job when looking after a large house is the security aspect. Checking who and when people are on site, night time walk round which would take up to 2hrs at a time.

The job as a domestic couple is rewarding in its own right. Knowing that we can put our own mark on the job that is asked of us to a very high standard. Ensuring the safety and protection of our employer. – less
