Field Sales & Marketing Manager - Food Services
Location : Mississauga/Oakville
Salary Range : $50,000 - $60,000 Salary Based on Experience


Our well-established foodservice client is looking for an enthusiastic Field Sales & Marketing Manager to join its progressive Foodservice Marketing Team, based out of their head office in the Mississauga/Oakville region. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for working closely with restaurant franchisees to help drive sales through the review & development of marketing initiatives & programs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Marketing champion for selected product categories while helping to drive sales by acting as a business partner with franchisees
  • Immersion in forecasting / budgeting / margin assessment activities
  • Monitor all regional actual inventories vs. forecast vs. budget to maintain proper inventory levels and turns
  • Conduct routine monthly margin/inventory review
  • Support aged inventory focus & slow moving stock with sales team
  • Product rationalization as required
  • Achieve annual profit, sales and marketing objectives
  • Manage monthly profit & volume of assigned categories
  • Conduct routine pricing reviews, deal activity & margin management
  • Act as project lead on cross functional teams for new product launches and product improvements
  • Develop Category POS, trade ads, new product launch information, website copy and other sales collateral, with support of Restaurant location managers
  • Support sales efforts by analyzing market trends
  • Attend trade shows & other events to promote the company in the local community
  • Support sales team via Field trouble shooting, Account Manager/Sales Rep training, New product/launch support, Maintain SKU focus with sales team i.e. key seasonal focus or margin/availability opportunities, Work with National Accounts to develop new products, menu items, Troubleshoot issues relating to product availability and pricing. Provide recommendations/resolutions
  • Develop and deliver presentations, along with the sales team, to key customers
  • Measure and understand regional business strengths and opportunities
  • Participate in annual business plan development
  • Monitor and review competitive product information and conduct regular gap analysis
  • Manage updates of internal product information
  • Champion packaging/branding changes on category SKUs

Required Skills & Experience

  • * University degree in business or equivalent industry related experience
  • * Minimum of 3-5 years’ progressive experience in Foodservice Marketing & Sales and/or Foodservice or Retail marketing role
  • * Ability to travel (min 50%) to franchise locations (mostly Ontario)
  • * The successful candidate will be a self-starter and highly motivated with good organization and analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • * Excellent communication skills both oral and written, as well as strong creative and presentation skills, are required
  • * The ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a fast paced, team based environment
  • * Computer knowledge & ability in using software such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite.
