Deputy Chief Public Health Officer, Prince Edward Island
The Department of Health and Wellness is seeking a permanent full-time Deputy Chief
Public Health Officer for the province of Prince Edward Island
The Deputy Chief Public Health Officer is accountable to providing public health system leadership and expertise related to promotion and protection of health and prevention of disease and injury.
The Deputy Chief Public Health Officer will report to the Chief Public Health Officer.
HOURS OF WORK:
37.5 hours per week
As per the Master Agreement between the Government of Prince Edward Island and the
Medical Society of Prince Edward Island
The Physician shall have the choice between a salary or a contract-for-service payment modality.
Additional on-call stipend provided.
ON CALL REQUIREMENT
The Physician shall be required to participate in an on-call roster.
The physician must possess FRCPC in Public Health and Preventive Medicine and/or
equivalent (such as PhD in Public Health)
The physician must be eligible for licensure to practice medicine with the College of Physician
and Surgeons of PEI.
