Prince Albert Pulp Inc.’s vision is to be a world class dissolving pulp mill, producing 650 tonnes per day with a staffing compliment of approximately 250 employees in a unionized facility. Prior to start up of a fully operational pulp facility, the site is producing green energy through the combustion of waste wood and sludge residuals and then selling the generated electricity back to the power grid.
Over the next 12 to 18 months the successful applicant’s duties will mainly be focused on recruitment activities including sourcing candidates, preparing job postings, collecting and screening candidate information, scheduling and conducting interviews, completing reference checks, and preparing and issuing offer letters. Long term duties will include support in areas such as compensation and benefits, payroll, disability management, diversity/inclusiveness, labour relation activities, training and special projects as required. Responsibilities include working closely with groups such as finance, payroll, safety, education and training, maintenance and production to ensure that business objectives are achieved.
The desired qualifications include a minimum of 3 plus years of recruiting experience and comprehensive HR generalist experience; a Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate discipline or a diploma/certificate in Human Resources or a related field. Your experience and ability to interpret legislation, computer proficiency, HRIS skills, excellent planning, time management and organizational skills are desired abilities. Must have ability to handle multiple priorities and able to work in a demanding work environment; demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues and ability to work independently and/or in a team environment. Knowledge and experience working with collective agreements and in unionized organizations will be considered an asset, as well as a CHRP designation (or working towards one).
