Prince Albert Pulp Inc.’s vision is to be a world class pulp mill producing 650 tonnes per day with a staffing compliment of approximately 250 employees in a unionized facility. Prior to start-up of a fully operating pulp facility the site is producing green energy through the combustion of waste wood and sludge residuals selling the generated electricity back to the power grid.
Prince Albert will be an integrated facility with a log handling yard, wood room, and dissolving pulp mill including a self-contained steam plant with hog boiler, recovery boiler, gas/oil boiler, and electrical generation. Re-commissioning of the mill presents a unique opportunity to be involved with construction and start-up activities. The incumbents we are seeking will be responsible for maintenance and repairs to mill equipment. Future duties will include involvement with the start-up and commissioning of the pulp mill.
Based on mill priorities the successful applicant will be regularly involved in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation and control equipment in a heavy industrial environment. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCSs (Distributed Control Systems), AC/DC variable speed drives, analytical instrumentation calibration, and power distribution systems. SAP training and experience is considered an asset as well as strong computer skills. The ideal candidate will possess Journeyperson status as both an Electrician and Instrumentation Technician but at a minimum will have an Interprovincial Certificate in the Instrumentation trade.
The Company offers an attractive benefit and compensation package.
