Pros: strong company
Cons: stiff, old school philosophy, not much diversity
PPG is very strong financially, and is not afraid to invest in their business. I was a former Akzo employee, although I chose not to relocate to Pennsylvania when they shut down operations in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, etc.
When you attend sales conferences, you see that the upper management is primarily white males. The CEO is visible on shows – more... like Mad Money, where he discusses the financial status of the company.
Product training appears to be rather weak, and the philosophy does not seem to be consistent for growth and product integrations. PPG is new to SAP, and their processes are somewhat outdated (manual). From what I have read, they do not provide competitive pay , and employees are limited in promotions. – less
