this was a Volunteer position, during 2010 - 2012
Volunteer / Support Staff (Former Employee) –  Port Colborne, ON28 August 2012
I enjoyed my volunteer experience at this facility, a charitable organization, and I will be volunteering there again. I've been asked to give a teaching lecture to the clients. The clients are those on assisted living, or the working poor, who often need a boost in their Life Skills area.
As I was given a choice of what to speak about, that is what I decided - "Life Skills"...namely, initially centering around the kitchen - safety, hygeine and cooking tips for the kitchen, inexpensive recipes to make with only a few ingredients that are not only nutritious but delcious also.
I am excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to it.
i will gain more valuable experience in my career choice, and it may lead to paid employment.
as of yet, it's not paid work, and i do need gainful employment.
