My typical day at work starts at 7:00 a.m. I answer all service related calls. There is inventory maintenance to do as well as following up with service customers that require repairs to their pools and hot tubs. Filing is an ongoing part of my job as I keep track of all the service customers and the paperwork pertinent to their accounts. I am in charge of scheduling pool and hot tub openings and closings as well. Spring and fall are very busy seasons in the pool industry.
I have learned how to work alongside upper management and store owners as well as supervise staff. My skills as a self motivated member of the team have been honed. My customer service has developed into second nature. I have learned not to assume that any job is a "piece of cake" or take things for granted. There is always room for improvement and learning new skills. My organizational skills have become effective and prove to be time saving.
My co-workers are highly motivated people who strive to succeed in their positions. We all work very well as a team.
The hardest part of my job is definitely the long hours.
The most enjoyable aspect of my job is without a doubt the customers. There are those customers who bring a special feeling of accomplishment to what I do. They are what make service work gratifying.
