Primarily responsible for operation of conventional mill or lathe for part production based on the schedule established by the Production Scheduler. Also responsible for operation of the CNC mill to produce parts to production standard and engineering specifications. Set up of part, operation of machinery for part production, minor adjustments as required to programs, quality control all required. Responsible to verify material specifications are consistent with engineering drawing to ensure quality part production. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: part re-work as directed by engineering and/or Production Scheduler, general housekeeping and reporting maintenance issues on assigned machinery, cycle counting of raw material, completion of production work orders, completion of labour hours on timesheet, completion of documentation to prepare parts for anodizing and/or plating outservice, and deburring finished parts, other duties as assigned.

 At least 5 years experience in conventional machining (both mill and lathe)
 3 – 5 years experience in CNC machining
 Forklift training an asset
 Experience with using various measuring devices (calipers, height gauge, micrometer)
 Experience using surface grinders, drill & tap machine, belt sander, deburring tools
 Experience working in a production machine shop preferred
 Excellent math skills
 Excellent comprehension skills (read/write English)
 Ability to read and interpret blueprints
 Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
 Experience using Fanuc controls
 Excellent communication skills

 High school diploma or equivalent
 Trade certificate (tool and die, mold maker or machinist certificate)
 Formal training and/or experience using CNC mills and/or lathes an asset
