Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Deerfield, ILMarch 7, 2014
Pros: free lunches
A typical day would start out checking emails and phone messages, and responding to those. Then doing mainly Word and Excel documents. Some newsletter info contained knowledge in PowerPoint.

Learned more skills including flash drive PDF documents to email to Corporate Office of Executive VP's expenses from travelling world-wide, and other travel expenses – more... of Directors who mainly travelled the U.S. Maintained confidentiality of EVP's and Director's finances, as well as confidential information on co-workers.

Was a very nice team oriented environment with EVP, Directors, and co-workers.

There was no hardest part of the job, and the most enjoyable part was the team spirit of everyone helping each other, and during the Holidays, having lunch at a very nice restaurant with everyone in our small office, being covered by the EVP who trusted me with the receipt to ensure that he was re-imbursed by the company. He was a very nice, personable person and I enjoyed having his trust in ensuring that he was re-imbursed for his travels world-wide and other job related expenses. – less

Totally unorganized and mismanaged - no loyatly to employees
Medical Editor (Former Employee), Indianapolis, INFebruary 11, 2014
Pros: possible remote position
Cons: no loyalty and very high drama.
You will not be micromanaged (or trained) because management is too busy making sure they are profitable. Working from home is a favorable option, but don't expect management to step up for you. It all starts with the attitudes of top management, and it rolls down hill from there. There is high drama but no loyalty, and you will be fired if someone – more... thinks it is in their favor (or the company's). Absolutely the most hostile work environment I have ever experienced. – less

Senior Regional Clinical Research Associate (Former Employee), Blue Bell, PAJune 13, 2013
Pros: travel
Cons: job never ends
There is no work and life balance in this type of position. The management is insensitive to employee needs and there is no job security.
Loved my job with all the hard work it brought to the position and my fellow teammates.

Very busy company
Senior Technical Assistant (Current Employee), Blue Bell, PAApril 9, 2013
Pros: can't think of any
Cons: too many to list
More work keeps getting piled on you each day. There's very little or no training or training manuals to follow. The moral is very bad. People aren't treated very well and talked down to. You work non stop and most days are so busy that you can't take a lunch. There's no flexability, very little vacation time per year and the health benefits are horrible. – more... The hardest part of the job is trying to keep up with the workload. The only enjoyable part of the job is seeing my friends each day. – less

IT Senior Associate (Current Employee), Princeton, NJDecember 17, 2012
Pharmanet is a Pharmaceutical Company that I've had the pleasure of working at for the past 4 and a half years. A typical days work is coming in the morning. Receiving calls from users and helping them with any Technical issues they might be having. I learned the value of listening to users and fully getting the whole picture when it comes to what type – more... of help a user might need. The management was great and the only reason I'm leaving is because our job got Outsourced. – less

Growing pains prevalent during multiple mergers
Quality (Current Employee), Indianapolis, INMarch 12, 2012
Pros: schedule flexibility, work from home allowed, compensation at entry was excellent
Cons: pto is decreasing, raises and bonuses have decreased, job security is lacking due to multiple lay offs, significant changes in leadership
The company is encountering many growing pains as it has merged 3 CROs in the past year. The changes in HR policies and communication gaps are still a struggle. They are navigating a challenging period of time.
