Our client, a large North American Truck-transport expert, is seeking an experienced Driver Recruiter for their busy Winnipeg division. They are expanding and looking to add some top talent to their team. As their Driver Recruiter, you will have a strong track record in driver recruitment and selection (both company & Owner Operators), high volume sourcing, be a true people person, a great communicator, have a keen eye for detail and quality, be organized and possess a natural ability in human resources, sales and marketing. A Class 1A license and experience over the road would be a plus, but is not essential. You will be recruiting for a specialized division of the company. As Driver Recruiter, you will be required to ensure maximum operations levels with the use of company drivers, owner operators and lease operators. Some of your duties will include:
In the community & local newspapers on a weekly basis. The development and placement of daily internet ads as required. The placement of recruitment posters and other relevant materials in various trucking related businesses, truck stops, etc. Attendance as a front line representative of the company at trucking shows/events as well as developing a strong and trustworthy presence with drivers at local truck stops, coffee shops, repair facilities and any other locations frequented by driving personnel. Overall promotion of the company and its brand in the broader community. As the Driver Recruiter, you will conduct sales presentations as required.
As the Driver Recruiter, you will become an expert on the company, its traffic lanes and various operations, company benefits, pay packages, equipment, etc. Stay current on what the competing companies and Driver Recruiters are doing, their pay packages, etc., and recommend/develop improvements in the hiring process as required. Address driver inquiries over the phone and via email. Have the ability to be a mobile office with laptop/cell phone, strong computer skills, remaining organized and maintaining files/documentation throughout.
As Driver Recruiter, you will create a trust worthy reputation amongst drivers. Meet and Greet Drivers at truck stops, garages, coffee shops and industry related locals with the ability to function as if in the office.
Develop strong interviewing and driver recruitment assessment skills with the ability to assess & review applicant(s) potential and their motivation for success. This further ensures the company's strong track record of hiring of high caliber individuals who see themselves as professional & career oriented, industry educated, cost conscious, business minded, reliable and trainable. Our client's driving personnel true team players who are self directed and who can represent the company at a high level of quality at all times.
Experience with maintaining applicant tracking systems, assisting with the completion of application forms and other relevant and supporting documentation. Knowledge of driver documentation is a must. Conduct reference and background checks, coordinate road tests and submission of results. Ensure all applicants have a thorough understanding of their new job description and pay packages.
Coordinate with head office operations, arrange driver orientation day schedules, act as a bridge of contact between the company and driver applicants at all times, listening to and addressing any concerns/retention issues as they arise. Attend training programs as required.
