Patriot Forge, with a reputation for excellence as a producer of custom metal components, located in Brantford, is currently searching for a Human Resources Generalist, reporting directly to the Director, Human Resources. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to a good working knowledge of processes in regards to Recruitment, WSIB, RTW Program, Training Administration, Payroll & Benefits and Health & Safety.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in HR Management, CHRP or working towards it, five years HR experience in a manufacturing facility, experience using SAP for HR & Payroll, thorough knowledge and experience dealing with WSIB (Form 7’s to Tribunal) and OHSA.


Recruitment and Selection
Responsible for the overall recruitment process for Patriot Forge,
Co-ordinates and participates in recruiting activities: preparing internal and external job postings, screening applicants and arranging and conducting interviews, testing, initiating reference checks, and ensuring feedback is provided to all candidates
Works with hiring leaders to develop or revise job descriptions for vacant hourly positions.
Monitors expenditures of salary recruitment accounts
Tracks recruitment methods and successes

WSIB and STD Administration
Responsible for all WSIB related documentation, ensuring compliance with legislated regulations. Follows up on issues and reports on status of claims to Director of HR
Works closely with health and safety group and supervisors to ensure proper information is collected from Accident and First Aid reports for WSIB Form 7’s
Tracks WSIB related injuries monthly and reports trends to Director HR
Coordinates the Modified Work Program, advising leadership on actions, arranging and following up on temporary alternate work and providing advice on modified work policy and procedures
Coordinates Hourly STD program and liaises with the benefit carrier, employees and supervisors
Assists Director of Health and Safety on Health and Safety program improvements

Employee Related Issues
Maintains absolute confidentiality on company and employee related matters
Assists employees as needed with respect to all HR related issues including benefits, corrective counseling, performance issues, etc.
Works with Director Human Resources on any current projects, preparing reports, presentation slides/hand-outs and related material.

Maintains training matrix and training signature sheets and follows up with supervisors to ensure training is recorded.
Coordinates new employee orientation process with supervisors to ensure orientation programs are followed
