QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Masters degree in social work, psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Clinical training and experience in individual and family assessment and treatment. The ideal incumbent will possess excellent interpersonal and relationship skills in working with youth along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated skills working as an effective leader and a strong understanding and ability to work cross culturally are mandatory.
Provides counselling support to individual youth and their families within the Pathways Programs. Case management practices will be the vehicle for primary support functions. Secondary support will be given to the residential staff team or Home Base Drop In Centre team(s) in terms of assistance and advice on issues surrounding youth in care. This position will advocate with outside agencies in securing placements and client information as related to individual cases, participate in the intake process and assist in training of personnel and students, as applicable.
