The motto: make your money before they get rid of you. I felt that I was very underpaid and over worked but every man in there has a family or priorities so we all just dealt with the circumstances

Worst pay, horrible management & will fire good employees without cause. Saftey is poor, vehicles are always broken down. Respect for employees are out the window, no life, no dental, everyone smokes weed on company grounds & then will operate cranes, trucks etc. Overall this is the worst company ever!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Place to work at
Employee (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GA30 October 2017
This is a job for convicts which is the majority of the work force. Management doesn't care about anyone. They're just counting dollars for the number of bodies they hire. Turnover is outrageous. They hire new people every week because no one stays. They either get fired over drug use or the smart ones see they're getting used by these people wanting you to work 12 hours a day for the pennies that they pay you, and they split. Even though they're getting top dollar from Norfolk Southern. They have garbage equipment to work with. And employees on drugs handling heavy equipment. OSHA would have a field day if they showed up out there.

Health Insurance
Cons
Everything else

Driver/Groundman (Former Employee) –  Commerce, CA16 October 2017
I worked long hours. They will place you in any shift(day, swing, night). Management needs training here, they were not helpful to workers. The only enjoyable part was being with other employees.

Parsec is a good company to work for if you just like to do your job and be left alone. It is fast pace and can be dangerous if you do not fallow safety rules

Time consuming & Junk Equipment
Ramp Rat (Current Employee) –  Elwood, IL17 May 2017
The 707 union you are forced into was created by the company for the company. The union doesn't care about the employees. Equipment is always filthy and broken/rundown, but if you down a machine there's always another idiot that'll operate just to do so, without letting it get fixed like it should. Dedicate 12 hours of your life everyday to work because you can get randomly froze for mandatory overtime. Pay scale is the worst I've ever seen of a company that's supposed to be professional. The enforcement of radio chatter is non-existent so it's very difficult to communicate with supervisors and co-workers about the task at hand. If you are desperate and in need of a very easy job then this might be for you. 401k/time in a half/paid vacations/paid days off/small raise every year.

Management is Good

Long hours

Long hours mandatory overtime
Driver/Ground Man (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles, CA29 March 2017
Parsec is a Labor intense company (groundsman and driving) run by persons in management with high seniority 20 years or more. Salaries are controlled by the Union and management. Long work hours often with mandatory overtime. No pay raises in the last two years. Turn over rate unfortunately is very high due to lower seniority (5 years or less) having no room for advancement.
Pros
There is most often work
Cons
Pay salary is low and not competitive

A good way to get your start in Transport
Inventory Control Specialist (Former Employee) –  Austell, GA8 February 2017
Most of your time is spent either setting up for out bound trains or clearing the tracks for inbound trains. The job provides a good working environment. The work can be strenuous at times so you can't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Advancement is available to those who work hard.
Pros
Great leadership, opportunities for advancement
Cons
the work is hard but fulfilling.

this job is really easy but don't try to make plans for your self because there is no advancement here and mandatory overtime. some times you just want to go home and they make you stay. the managers have napolian complex and try to throw power around. besides that sometimes you get paid just to show up because theres nothing to do

Inbound is fast pace when UPS season is around. Management and co-workers get along real well. When they rehire some fresh recruits I sometimes train them how to drive Hostlers.
