Pros: incentives for safety and fun contests at work, busiest shift of the day
Cons: always short staffed as most jobs are
I would normally work a 1st shift getting residents showered, dressed and off to breakfast in the am, and to lunch. In between I would do scheduled showers/baths, vitals, snack pass, and toileting schedules. I had great co-workers that were good at team work and reliable employees as well as friends in the work place. The hardest part of the job was leaving I loved it there. The most enjoyable part of the job was the gratifying feeling I would get at the end of the day knowing I provided quality care to those who lived there. I learned lots of things I would be willing to be more thorough in an interview to share with you.
