NOT FOND OF PARKERS ABILITY TO DEAL WITH THE INDIVIDUAL PERSON
Accounts Receivable Manager (Former Employee), Houston, TX – May 20, 2013
PARKER HANNIFIN ACQUIRED GULF COAST SEAL LTD ON 11/15/2010 AND I WORKED FOR PARKER FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS THE HARDEST PART OF WORKING FOR PARKER WAS ALL THE CHANGES FROM A ONE OWNER COMPANY TO A HUGE CORPORATION- PARKERS COMPUTER SYSTEM IS ANTIQUATED AND WHAT USE TO TAKE ONE OR TWO STEPS TO ACCOMPLISH A TASK NOW TOOK SEVERAL STEPS- OIL AND GAS BUSINESS – more... WAS IS A NEW ADVENTURE FOR PARKER AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO RETRAIN THE GAS AND OIL COMPANIES TO PARKERS NEW TERMS AND CONDITIONS AFTER TWENTY FIVE YEARS OF BEING WITH GULF COAST SEAL AND ABIDITING BY TOTAL DIFFERENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS. MOST ENJOYABLE PART WAS SOLVING PROBLEMS FOR THE CUSTOMERS AND KEEPING THEM HAPPY AS WELL AS OUR INSIDE SALES FOLKS. – less

Fun workplace
Procument / Expeditors (Current Employee), Johannesburg – May 15, 2013
Cons: overnight
To make sure that on a daily basis everything that's needs to be done for the day is completed. I have learnt so much experience and to always obey your superiors. Management comes first and the workload they give you as at the end of the day you need to keep the customer happy. My fellow co - workers are like my second family as we are one big and – more... happy family that work as a team and give a helping hand to one another. The hardest part is when is month end when everything needs to be done and make sure that all the paper work has been processed for that particularly month. The most enjoyable part is when you have all the right answers for your customers and always making sure that you always makes them happy. – less

HR had the Worst Leader of All Time and Still Does
HR (Former Employee), HR – May 10, 2013
The HR person I reported to was the meanest person I have ever worked for/with in my life. She was allowed to do the things she did and continues to do so. She was even promoted. She tried getting others to write false information on peer performance reviews if she didn't like you, she was immature and insulted others behind their backs, and everyone – more... was afraid of her. She threatened people and she threatened your job if you didn't agree with her. So what do they do? They move her and then promote her. I use to love this organization until I started working with her. The entire team was afraid of her. Every person walked on egg shells when she was in the area. She used fear to rule. I had always prided myself on being an ethical employee of Parker Hannifin but this woman is the most unethical person I have ever met. She isn't a leader. There was so much turnover in her area of leadership but it was never questioned. People called the hotline and nothing was done. She terminated people and was never questioned as so why the people around her were failing. She would set you up to fail. She had staff who would lie for her and if they didn't they were terminated. Sad. I loved it when I started and miss it terribly and those I worked with but this woman took it all away and is still there. Bad ...bad...bad Parker Aerospace. – less

Is this at a Michigan location? I've heard good things about PH in the past and was considering applying for an HR job at one of the MI locations...but after reading this I'm very hesitant. I'm already in this sitch and don't want to walk into another one!

Parker Hannifin co-op was a great experience.
Co-op Associate - Engineer/Technician (Former Employee), Irvine, CA – May 8, 2013
There was always work to be done at Parker Hannifin. I learned many electrical circuit applications which included: modification of electrical design, troubleshooting, and reading electrical schematics. The supervisors working there were great and helpful to my education and experience with the work field. They tried to give me different variety of – more... work so I can expand my knowledge. However, the work were fairly simple and not too complicated. I was hoping for more challenging work. The most enjoyable part of the job is working jointly with engineers on design and testing. I got to briefly learn about the regulations that are required before a project can be completed. – less

Glad to be out
warehouse (Former Employee), castle hill – May 6, 2013
Work in the warehouse is fun and easy and always something new arriving which keeps the job exciting most of the staff there are very friendly, although the management at Parker wasn't the best, decisions always getting changed, and communication was at a low with these decisions, one team leader in the warehouse is extremely rude and over forceful – more... with getting the job done, no one could relax and enjoy working around him, he tends to have a laugh and play a harmless practical joke on an individual at times, which is fine at the time for him, busy or not but when the same is done in return, he makes it out as if that individual doesn't care, is lazy and hasn't got a clue or tells them to stop wasting time,..

The pay was very low, and not much overtime any more, but when there was o.t to be taken if refused you as an individual are made out as letting the company down. – less

Proud of work...keeping the country strong.
Machinist (Former Employee), Tolleson, AZ – May 3, 2013
Pros: company outings and family type atmosphere.
Cons: subject to socially challenged supervision and micromanagement.
Set up and operate machines for air refueling parts.
Part flow and inspection to a finished product out the door.
Last 2-3 yrs. poor due to downsizing and micro-management.
Co-workers were like family.
Hardest part of job was tolerating micro-management and supervisors who lacked social skills.
Enjoyable part of job was in knowing that we contributed – more... to our
nations' defense and global air transport systems.
Finally left job to pursue new career and working atmosphere. – less

Productive and Growing Place with Bright Future
Product Engineer II (Current Employee), Anaheim, CA – April 11, 2013
Pros: benefits
Cons: not having too many people to learn from
-Expected to work from 7am to 6pm most day.
-I had the exposure to a lot of new software but had to learn on my own since not too many of the engineers knew how to use it.
-Management is decent. I was able to make a friendship with my boss.
-Coworkers, like usual, like to pretend to work but not too much gets done in reality.
-The hardest part of the – more... commute for me was the commute, if that was not an issue I would have stayed longer with the company.
-My opinion counts and is heard. If you are proactive in your tasks you will succeed. – less

Good job, good culture. Long commute
Inside Sales Rep (Former Employee), Alpharetta, GA – April 8, 2013
Pros: great job, great pay, great environment, co-workers and management
Cons: commute
This was one of the best jobs I've had. Day to day work was fun and interesting and customers were a pleasure to deal with. Center manager was tough but fair and a good boss. The only drawback to this job was the commute.

Fast Pace
Team Leader (Former Employee), New Haven, IN – April 4, 2013
Pros: supervisor was nice
Cons: 2nd shift, always on feet, it was loud in the factory
I worked in a factory on an assembly line. We definitely had to have team work. If someone was moving slower we had to pick up the slack to make up our numbers. It always felt good when we exceeded. I learned how to weld pipe and iron. Safety is important in these companies because the machinery is expensive plus can be dangerous. The hardest part of – more... my job was in the beginning learning how to put together the parts, but it got easier the more I did it. I liked the job because it was the highest paying job I ever had at that time. Management was good , but I wasn't working there long enough to really know them. – less

Nice, clean, efficient corporation
Systems Intern, Corporate IT Engineering (Former Employee), Cleveland, OH – March 26, 2013
Pros: nice atmosphere, great cafeteria
Cons: large cubicle grid
Parker is a great corporation that is very organized despite it's large size. I learned a lot at my internship that I will be able to bring with me to my next position. The part that I disliked the most however was the huge grid of cubicles because they just felt overwhelming in my own opinion. I would have felt more comfortable in a smaller environment.
