MACHINIST/APPRENTICE MACHINIST
EDMONTON, ALBERTA
Packers Plus is the pioneer of open hole, multi-stage horizontal fracturing and we provide technology-based solutions to the oil and gas industry around the world. We are currently recruiting for a Machinist to join the team at our Rapid Tool Development Center in Edmonton.
Primary Role Focus
Responsible for producing prototype or specialty parts as required
- Reports to the Machine Shop Coordinator
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of all parts (24 hour turn around)
- Perform 100% QA checks, including dimensional inspection of parts, and recording any deviations
- Communicate machining best practices to designers
- Maintain and calibrate precision measuring equipment
- Assist with any repairs or maintenance of equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of workspace and shop
Educational, Physical and Safety Requirements
- 1st, 2nd or 3rd year Machinist ticket
- Forklift training required
- Able to lift 50lbs
Competencies, Skills and Experience
- Experience running CNC machines an asset
- Experience running a variety of machines and measuring equipment an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in reading and understanding machining blueprints
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency
- Able to remain calm, flexible, open and positive when faced with conflicting demands
- Teamwork

- Timely and accurate completions of parts or services
- Accurate QA checks on parts or assemblies
- Ensure that all maintenance, shop cleanliness and safety is up to Packers Plus standards
