Having been in the business for over 25 years, Pacific Sky Aviation (Pacific Sky) is Victoria, BC’s pre-eminent flight training centre. The company is committed to providing quality instruction and excellence in flight services and caters to all levels of interest. Private or Commercial licenses can be obtained and endorsed with Night, Multi-Engine, and Instrument Ratings.
Pacific Sky’s affiliate, Viking Air Ltd. (Viking), is a leading Canadian manufacturer of aircraft as well as aircraft parts and systems. Viking brings the collective experience of almost 600 employees across Canada to de Havilland Canada customers around the world. In support of the Viking Twin Otter Series 400 program, Pacific Sky provides flight and maintenance training. Together, Pacific Sky and Viking guarantee their customers safety, innovation, and professionalism.
Due to the market success of the Twin Otter program, Pacific Sky Aviation has launched a growth strategy that has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager (PM) to join the company for a term of two years working from the Victoria International Airport. The PM will be responsible for delivering the development and implementation projects and is accountable for quality, cost, and schedule management.
Reporting to the CEO, the Project Manager will manage the new technologies and facility expansion projects that will provide Twin Otter customers with a level of training that has never before been available to operators, maximizing these capabilities to offer Twin Otter flight and maintenance training services on a global basis to its customers. The PM will oversee all aspects of the development including responsibility for project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, and project accounting and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
The ideal candidate will bring a university degree or equivalent experience (a P.Eng designation would be advantageous), and will ideally hold a PMP, CAPM, or equivalent certification. He/she will have a track record of success in executing complex commercial/light industrial build projects, ideally with experience in both IT and non-IT delivery. A natural self-starter, the Project Manager must have the ability to deal effectively with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders on project-related matters, and should demonstrate the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change. Though not required, aviation construction experience would be highly advantageous.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and innovative Project Manager to play a key role in an impressive organization as it breaks new ground and raises the bar in flight training. The successful candidate will be joining a highly professional, positive, and customer focussed team, and will have the opportunity to live and work in beautiful Victoria, BC.
