Represent Pace Industries with select customers on a daily basis to resolve quality concerns, support new product introduction, manage the customer’s tooling requirements and promote communication that will establish positive customer relationships strengthening Pace Industries’ overall business position with the customer(s).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote a positive working relationship between Pace and the customer:
o Meet with assigned customers daily, or as specified, to review the performance of products and services provided by Pace Industries.
o Ensure clarity of communications between the customer and Pace.
o Report any concerns voiced by the customer to Pace corporate and divisional leadership.
o Participate in visits to Pace divisions by the customer supplier quality group.
o Visit Pace divisions as necessary to review issues and understand situations that have direct impact on the customer’s success.
- Respond immediately to customer Quality concerns:
o Be on site within 12 hours to review the problem and gather data that will assist Pace divisions with root cause analysis.
o Work with the customer and with the Pace divisions to develop corrective actions.
o Manage customer expectations with regard to product sorting, return or replacement.
o Oversee sorting or rework actions occurring at the customer location.
o Control the situation to ensure customer satisfaction while minimizing the financial impact for Pace Industries.
- Champion the APQP process by interfacing with the customer and with Pace divisions during new product design development and introduction:
o Ensure customer die casting and machining requirements are well defined and documented.
o Provide input to the customer during the design phase to ensure product manufacturability.
o Establish and document part quality requirements. Ensure that cosmetic acceptance criteria is understood and documented when applicable.
o Assistance in the development of the PFMEA and Control Plan.
o Be present during PPAP and initial production with the customer Supplier Quality Engineers to provide technical support and assistance.
- Work with Pace divisions to manage customer’s tooling program ensuring:
o Parts are reviewed regularly with the customer Supplier Quality Engineers for evidence of die wear.
o An action plan is developed for any concerns identified during the tooling review.
o Replacement tooling is ordered on time to minimize additional internal processing by Pace or the customer.
- Preform all other assigned duties and tasks.
