Polytubes Inc. is an industry leader in polyethylene pipe manufacturing. We are seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to work in our office located in Edmonton, Alberta. This position will report directly to the Controller.
This is a key role as part of a centralized finance department that oversees the accounting functions of multiple operating companies in the manufacturing industry. This role would be responsible for assisting with the accounting for two companies within the group and assist with other group functions if required.
Monthly accounting period close process (bank recs, accruals, fixed assets etc.)
Journal entry and working paper preparation
Sales Tax and other regulatory filings
Preparation of daily bank deposit
Year-end audit assistance
Weekly AR collection calls (minimal)
Ad-hoc reporting as required
3+ years of related accounting experience
Full cycle accounting experience an asset
Knowledge of internal control systems and procedures
Strong Excel skills
Detail orientated, organized and has the ability to handle multiple tasks
Initiative to learn & take on new responsibilities
Must take responsibility and ownership for position
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Accounting diploma or active enrollment in a Canadian professional accounting program an asset. Level of practical experience and ability to learn will be heavily weighted.
Compensation: $50,000-55,000 per annum commensurate on experience. To be reviewed with market each year.
