Title*: Employment Coordinator
Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: 49,430 plus comprehensive benefit package.

Reporting Relationship: The Employment Coordinator reports directly to the Employment Services Supervisor
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
Education: Post Secondary Degree in Social Sciences and/or Diploma in Social Services or equivalent. Career Development Practitioner Certificate an asset.
Experience: 2 years of related experience, experienced in administering and interpreting aptitude, interest, personality, behaviour and skills assessments an asset. Some background in business with human resources, marketing and sales experience an asset. Track record of meeting performance expectations.
Knowledge: Employment issues regarding persons with disabilities, broad based knowledge of Hamilton community services including those relating to employment & job retention, knowledge of labour market trends, career software such Career Cruising an asset.
Ability to: assess needs, develop plans and use administrative and organizational skills to achieve results, provide training or facilitate groups, work independently and in a team environment, travel throughout Hamilton, having access to reliable transportation, write reports, maintain files, proficiently use MS Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Promoting and persuading, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning, Excellent writing and time management skills a must.

Utilize case management skills to work with individuals to assist them in reaching mutually agreed upon employment goals, applying appropriate interviewing and employment counselling skills, developing appropriate strategies to help clients overcome obstacles to employment and drawing on appropriate counselling tools, program resources and community services.
-Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background and career goals,
-Provide individual counselling, assisting in the development of a client's individualized plans to achieve their employment counselling goal(s),
-Assist clients to develop job readiness skills and job search strategies,
-Develop employment opportunities through contact with Hamilton area businesses and market clients to employers,
-Deliver and interpret a wide range of career assessments,
-Facilitate groups and develop and deliver Career related workshops,
-Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings and entry and skill requirements,
-Assist clients to learn how to write resumes and prepare for job interviews,
-Draw on appropriate programs and community resources to assist clients in achieving their goals,
-Maintain awareness of community resources by liaising with relevant organizations/agencies institutions,
-Monitor client progress and provide follow-up support,
-Work independently and as part of a team,
-Provide accurate statistical monthly reports to management within deadlines,
-Maintain up to date client files,
-Follow agency policies and procedures.
