Orlick Industries Limited is a leading supplier in the automotive marketplace, providing precision machined aluminum casting.
Responsibilities – The position will be responsible for the following:
Maintaining around 150 office computers, 200+ production-related computers, 100+ networked production devices, approximately 10 servers, 30+ switches/routers
Working within VMWare, Windows Server and Linux Server mixed environment
Routing and Layer 2 bridges across 5 locations and multiple subnets in the Hamilton and Stoney Creek area
Plan and implement medium scale upgrades and company-wide initiatives
Implement server consolidation through virtualization where appropriate
Install, test, upgrade, monitor and troubleshoot software and solutions as required by various supported departments
Support phone systems across 5 sites
Create and update technical documentation relating to all aspects of the IT operations
Participate in Help Desk activities and escalate as required
Maintain all network hardware and software
Maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and documentation
Carry out Disaster Recovery testing as applicable
Coordinate BYOD policies and implementation across the enterprise
Essential Skills and Qualifications –
Extensive experience working with Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2010 (including clustering) and associated technologies
Experience with Sage ERP or HR systems would be an asset
Minimum 5 years running virtualized environments based on VMWare ESXi
Experience distributing software, managing backups, monitoring servers and network environment on a medium scale networked environment across multiple sites
Minimum 5 years experience monitoring network environments with Nagios monitoring software, including the ability to update and scale monitoring for new projects as required
Experience configuring and troubleshooting HP and Dell server hardware and networking equipment
Networking design and administration including L2 and L3 devices, bridging and VLAN
Experience working with EDI and other customer facing systems.
An excellent grasp of written english and enthusiasm around writing documentation
Team leadership skills
Strong business knowledge
Ability to exercise sound judgment
Minimum Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Minimum seven (5) years of related experience in a system administration or help desk role
Microsoft Systems certification (MCSE, MCITP, MCTS) are an asset
CCNA or other networking certifications are also an asset
