Whistler-based, outdoor sport-focused Origin Design + Communications is seeking an associate creative director with strong concepting and ideation skills and a copywriting background.
Origin’s Associate Creative Director (ACD) is a key Agency project stakeholder with a strong strategic and creative voice. He or she fulfills the leadership tasks and deliverables of their assigned client accounts, working specifically in support of the department of the Creative Director. S/he helps develop, initiate, and analyze marketing strategies and project concepts. By working directly with copywriters, graphic artists, and marketing employees, the associate creative director ensures that work is completed on time and that final products meet the expectations of clients.

Exceptional writing expertise and functional graphic design understanding is mandatory along with team management and client facing skills. This position requires the capabilities to direct and enhance the efforts of a creative team consisting of art directors, writers, designers, information architects, illustrators, videographers and photographers. Therefore, the candidate must have a well-rounded understanding of graphic design, information architecture, usability, technology, and experience design. Applied conceptual strategy, brainstorm facilitation, day-to-day shepherding of a project to completion and team play with engagement managers, production, and technology leads are all part of daily life for an associate creative director (ACD) at the Agency.
The Creative leader is responsible for conceptual development, client relations and the execution of creative deliverables. Responsibilities include creating and communicating concepts, creating and implementing marketing strategies along with development of interactive solutions. The ACD will ensure and rationalize all creative results against user experience management objectives. The ACD will be part of, and lead a collaborative team of Art Directors, Information Architects, Content Developers, Designers, Copywriters and Production Specialists. Balancing creative thinking with interpersonal skills, this person will demonstrate an ability to justify concepts to both the client and the project team.
The ACD also plays the important role of identifying projects that are not coming together as planned, and determines approach and dictates course correction. The ACD leads and directs cross-disciplinary development and execution of both short-term (project specific) and long-term (account specific) creative strategies. s/he is also responsible for representing and communicating the Agency's creative and business philosophy, methodology and capabilities to current and potential clients, as well as across all departments, business units and service lines. Additionally, s/he develops and executes account growth strategies with account core team members to meet account P&L goals set by the engagement lead.
