Principal Staff Member (Current Employee) – Redwood Shores, CA – 20 February 2014
Workload is not distributed uniformly. Some teams work a lot harder than others. Politics and bureaucracies play a big part in who will get rewarded. You need to work with a very strong team AND a very capable manager in order to succeed and move up within the company.
Software Developer (Former Employee) – Markham, ON – 26 September 2016
Oracle it's a great place to work and learn new skills using the latest software technology. There are times when you could be overwhelmed by the tasks and deadlines of the projects. The management is not always supportive but overall I had a great experience. It's hard to advance in the company, no career growth opportunities.
Senior Global Resource Analyst (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 15 September 2016
Work day includes meeting/greeting students and instructors - this was the highlight of the work day. The culture is very difficult in that there is always the threat of reduction in work force. The Sales teams have very strict quotas that given this climate are difficult to achieve. I enjoyed very much the people I worked with all over the world, learning new cultures, and autonomy from managers and directors. I enjoyed remote work and entering the Education centers 2x a week. I also enjoyed whatever travel was involved in this role.
Services Sales Manager (Current Employee) – Dalian China – 5 April 2016
I have to say this company is very recommendable. The company provides sufficient insurance and pension packages. It able provides good platform to learn, work and climb in the future. Ever since you've worked for Oracle, the candidate will be quite welcome in the market.
I have had a chance to work at Oracle Canada. My co-workers were excellent and I learned a lot from them. The sad part is that management has lack of trust in their employees. Plus I experienced favoritism and biased decisions. In a multi-national company, I was not expecting it.
Cloud Sales Manager (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 21 January 2016
Oracle is a leading technology company. I learned so much over my career there not only about technology but about sales, and the difficult world of IT. In general if you are a hard working, diligent and collaborative person you will do well at Oracle as they have great stuff to sell and a number of customers that have some Oracle technology.
Senior Principal Consultant (Former Employee) – Quebec – 12 October 2014
It's not hard to hit the 6 digit salary, but you'll expected to put a lot of extra time... comes down to make less if you calculate how much you make per hour invested. The extra time is not at the client (40hrs at the client), but the preparation, self-training, etc. It's overwhelming, it's a huge company with lots of information and technologies and nobody will hold your hand, if you can't swim... you will sink. There are brilliant people to work with... but most of them will be virtual.
Name on cv, brilliant co-workers, good salary for those who don't care how much time they invest
Corporate Account Executive (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 20 November 2014
Great product obviously... But the on-boarding is non-existent. Managers are just plain incompetent. Goals, quotas are unrealistic. No training program, so you don't understand what you selling. Many employees and managers are East-Indians and if you're Caucasian, you stand no change for advance...
Application Analyst/DBA (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 23 February 2013
Typical day is working on databases and Livelink (Configuring, Administer, and Consolidate) I have learned how to write SQL and Oracle Query and how to operate Livelink (Opentext). Co-workers are great people. Hardest part is company was outsourcing. Most enjoyable part of the job is learning about databases and dealing with clients.
License Migration Business Advisor (Current Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 12 August 2013
A very high class organization with talented management. Over 13 years in Oracle, I have been handling 3 different positions and have learned a lot and am able to work with Oracle Applications. LVC, On demand and webcast training always have helped me to gain more knowledge every day.
