Configuration Management Analyst (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CA and Tijuana, B.C.21 November 2016
It is a fast pace company, but the working environment is very nice. The products are very good and I was proud to be part of a company that cares about safety and helps keep truck drivers in check.

It's Alright
Systems Integration & Test Engineer (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TX3 September 2016
Overall the company isn't bad to work for. You get the exact 40 hour weeks you expect with decent benefits to boot. The worst thing is that HR doesn't help. Some of the newer folks make more and HRs policy is "tough luck, you can quite and come back to make me". Opportunities for advancement are scare because they have quotas. Such as 9 people in engineering get promoted every 6 months out of the 200 people on the floor.
Pros
Train Pass is Paid for, wonderful view, coworkers are amazing
Cons
HR and upper non-engineering management appears to want to save money any way they can

Omnitracs is located in a highly sought after area. I haven't had the best experience with my peers however once you tune them out the day goes by smoothly. Very laid back. I would recommend.

SENIOR ENGINEER (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TX27 October 2015
Senior level jobs are not secure enough. Culture of micro management. Hires fresh grads from college at very low salary. OK for people for a career start and get some expertise.

Warehouse Lead (Former Employee) –  Burnsville, MN10 October 2015
Very high turnover in multiple departments. Made communication and training very cumbersome. Direct management was good, but outside of that there was very little acknowledgement of the distribution staff. Felt more like an employee number than an actual valued employee.

Pro's and Con's of Omnitracs
Accounting Associate (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TX27 July 2015
Quick review:

A summary of what I do each day can be found on resume. I also do anything else that is assigned to me whether it is provide information to outside entities for tax/audit purposes or analyzing the impact of accounts throughout the month. As an accounting associate I do many different tasks that are always changing each week. This is a great learning experience although it makes it hard to specialize in an area and understand how the task impact each other.

The management is great. They are understanding and are willing to help when needed. Co-workers are all awesome. Many of them being entry-level thus making this transition into the corporate world easier since they are all going through the same thing.

The hardest part of the job for me is the job work/life balance. I have a long commute (roughly 3 hours total each day). This makes it more apparent when working 10 hours a day. Also, lack of training for entry-level can make it more difficult and stressful.

The most enjoyable part of the job is certainly friendly environment you get with your co-workers. I haven't had an issues with anyone.
Pros
Co-workers are great, variety of learning opportunities, areas to relax on break
Cons
hours can be brutal, not much training for entry-levels, stressful at times, long commute in my case.

To early to provide solid assessment
Manager (Current Employee) –  San Diego9 January 2014
Since the company was only recently sold by Qualcomm and acquired by a private equity firm, it's too early to accurately assess how the work culture, organization structure, and management philosophy may change.
