Senior Drafting Technician
A minimum of 5 Years unabridged and supervised employment in the curtain wall and building envelope industry.
Has a thorough understanding of basic curtain wall design and function and is fully conversant with currant drafting standards.
Has to be proficient in AutoCAD, and Inventor, a basic understanding of Revit would certainly be an asset.
The ability to produce free hand technical sketches will be an asset in this job.
Fully conversant with and, capable to read, understand and interpret architect’s drawings and specifications, as they apply to the building envelope.
Must be a self starter and able to work efficiently on his/her own, as well as working within a team of drafters to accomplish larger tasks.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization and, with architects and contractors in cases where drafting and other technical issues require information to complete shop drawings.
Prepare shop drawings with full details of all conditions necessary for consultant’s approval and, for manufacturer and installer to be able to interpret and understand the essence of all details.
Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for all curtain wall components, to facilitate simple and easy shop assembly.
Review project estimates and prepare shop drawings based on Scope of Work in Contract.
Apply all drafting standards and produce drawings and fabrication documents in accordance with the company’s information system.
Prepare proposal drawings for tender submission by the estimating dept.
Adhere to and maintain company’s safety standards at all time.
Graduate of Secondary School.
Completion of two to four Year technical college, or apprenticeship program in a field related to Building Envelope.
Evidence of having successfully completed courses in Drafting, Engineering, or other Building Envelope related fields.
