We maintain a strong relationship with equipment and supply manufacturers in order to provide our students with the most up-to-date information available. We open our doors to any industry supplier who wishes to provide the latest in repair techniques and materials to our classes and industry members.
Many equipment companies and paint companies conduct short classes for technicians from industry each year. We are particularly proud of our close working relationship with the following companies.
We have a full complement of equipment from Wedge Clamp Systems Inc. in our shop for apprentice training and journeyperson upgrading courses. Wedge Clamp provides world-class equipment for the anchoring, measuring, and pulling of both full-frame and unibody vehicles.
Our department uses BASF's Glasurit line of paint exclusively in our classes. We have installed Glasurit's 90-Line waterborne system providing an up-to-date environmentally friendly system. Apprentices from throughout the province have the opportunity to spray the new waterborne system while attending classes at Okanagan College.
Our relationship with Toyota Technical College has provided us with many spin-off benefits for our regular classes. Toyota has shared with us a wealth of training material developed in Japan. Every year in the fall one of our instructors travels to Japan to attend an information meeting with future Toyota Technical College students. These visits also provide an opportunity to stay current with Toyota's latest repair techniques and a chance to visit collision repair facilities in Japan. – less
