Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association, Niagara Elementary Unit
The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association is the union representing the elementary permanent and occasional teachers working in the Niagara Catholic District School Board. OECTA promotes the professional and contractual welfare of our members, promotes the principles of Catholic education, and defends the constitutional rights of the Catholic school system in Ontario.
This position is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive filing system, ordering office supplies, maintaining unit financial records, attending to all correspondence, forwarding unit information to provincial office in a timely manner and performing general administrative/reception functions (phone calls, word processing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, etc.).
It is expected that the incumbent is able to maintain confidentiality on OECTA related business and follows the procedures and practices of the association.
Post-secondary diploma in Office Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience; minimum of two years of previous administrative experience, knowledge of general office practices and procedures; proficient computerized bookkeeping skills, proficient in computer software applications, data bases, presentations and word processing; excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external contacts, and committed to maintaining strict confidentiality and privacy of information in order to ensure a high degree of integrity and trust.
Reports to: Unit President and 1st Vice President

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday as per the school year calendar
Salary Range: $17.25 - $27.93
Location: 610 Broadway Avenue, Welland, ON
Starting Date: March 2014
