The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is responsible for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel produced in Canada. Join our growing team of scientists, engineers and other professionals to work collaboratively with Canadians in implementing our management approach in a manner that safeguards people and respects the environment, now and in the future.
The NWMO is mandated with implementing Adaptive Phased Management, Canada’s approach for long-term management of used nuclear fuel. This approach involves the development of a centralized underground repository, supported by a robust social and technical research program in collaboration with Canadian universities, consultants and international waste management organizations.
The NWMO is also leading the development of a deep geologic repository for low and intermediate level radioactive waste at the Bruce nuclear site in Kincardine, Ontario, on behalf of Ontario Power Generation. – less
