  • Responds to telephone inquiries, communicates information and takes messages
  • Assists the Director of Sales and the Sales team with general administrative duties
  • Assists with all guest inquiries within the sales and catering department, including assisting with high telephone volume and walk-in site inspections
  • Conducts tours of property to meeting planners and other potential customers
  • Entertains customers on the property
  • Prepares and checks banquet event orders for accuracy and attends weekly BEOs meetings
  • Distributes Banquet Event Orders and Change Logs and ensures facts related to upcoming events are communicated to all departments concerned
  • Maintains an understanding of terms and conditions for all meetings, conferences and social functions
  • Maintains understanding of daily billing processes and ensures accuracy and timely completion of those processes
  • Liaises daily with Banquet and Kitchen departments to ensure open communication for the successful execution of events
  • Booking meetings and conferences
  • Meets assigned catering sales goals
  • Completes daily telephone solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers to increase catering business
  • Maximizes Food & Beverage revenues, meeting room revenues and guest room revenues from all catering accounts
  • Participates in appropriate tradeshows, sales calls and sales blitzes to build clientele base
  • Assists the operations team when necessary
  • Ensures adequate par stocks of office supplies and promotional materials are on hand
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of one year experience in a Catering & Sales Coordinator role is a MUST
  • Completion of post-secondary hospitality program and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of the Opera PMS System as an account/organizational tool would be definite asset
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Professional and courteous communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven experience in effectively addressing customer concerns
  • Proven ability to provide original and creative suggestions
  • Must be computer literate, proficient in MS office, desktop publishing experience an asset
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Able to multi task and work independently
  • Available to occasionally work weekends and holidays
  • Minimal local travel required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
